Shots and Changes...

This week Charlotte went in for her 4 month check-up.  Our baby weighs 15 lb 5 oz and is 24 1/2 in tall.  She is nice and average at the 42 and 68 percentiles for height and weight, and a whopping 99% for her head!  She did well at the Dr, and he is happy with her development.  She was a champ with her shots this time...which made me very happy!

Something else I had been toying with was the idea of having the girls share a room.  They have had their own rooms, but with our house being very small, having one bedroom and a play room instead would keep everything more organized.  We introduced the idea to Gracie of a "Sleeping Room" and "Play Room" and that she could sleep in the same room as Charlotte and she was SO excited.  She put her little fists in the air and said GREAT!  So we set to it...it is not quite complete but Gracie napped in her new room today and she is laying in there quietly as I type this.  The play room is not quite finished...still need to get some organization help with Ikea, and add some wall decals and pictures of the girls together on the walls.  The good things:
*MAYBE it will help them stay close since they are over-the-top in love with each other right now
*It wouldn't be fair for Charlotte to grow up in a smaller, darker room while Gracie had the big, bright bedroom with a huge closet.
*All the awesome toys Gracie received during the 2 1/2 years she was the only child/grandchild (kitchen...doll house...table/chairs...all the dress up...)etc will be in the play room and will now be "ours" not "mine"
*Laundry goes to one room for both girls (less work for mommy!)
*The bedroom is nice and dark all day and night for naps and night time.

The not so good:
*There will be good days and bad days for napping and sleeping at night.  One will wake up the other on occasion
*Clothes space...even though I was able to make both dressers work, the closet is small.  I am hoping that adding another rod for Gracie's stuff that she can reach will double the space and make it better.  Bottom line though...my girls need LESS clothes!!

I never shared a room, but Tim did.  I think in this day and age it is a positive thing for kids to share ANYTHING.  Kids these days are so blessed with their own rooms, TVs, computers, phones, etc.  Let's hope the room sharing goes well!
