The house has pretty much been as "turn-key" as you can get on the inside. We love all the paint colors and additions they had done so all we had to do was move in and add our own little touches. We really didn't change anything on the inside. The outside is a whole new story. The backyard has a great deck, grass, play structure and tool shed, but not one tree, plant, bush, etc.
My dad came over and helped us by putting up some poles for outdoor lights for the summer and fall nights, installing a motion flood light for in front of the french doors, brought us his lawn mower to keep, did round up, weed eated, brought us a raised garden to fill, and more. Since then with my mom's help we have added pots with flowers and grasses, a lilac tree, snowball bush, Japanese Maple, and a Rhododendron. Tim and I used a gift card from our dear friends Joanne and Mike to get a Linden tree to grow for shade, and two big tomato plants and cages for them. We have also added a garden with the big tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, strawberries, blueberries, pumpkins, green beans, carrots, and lettuce. We have an herb garden with rosemary, basil, mint, and pineapple sage. We took on a lot for this being our very first attempt at a garden but hey, why not! If we end up with ANYTHING, I will be thrilled!
