Trip #1

We have three trips planned over the next month with the girls.  The first was to my mom's timeshare in Escondido (north of San Diego).  What should have taken less than 8 hours for people traveling without kids took us over 12 hours!  We had to stop many times for gas stops, feeding stops, diaper changes, and potty stops for our newly potty trained Gracie...PLUS we hit weird 8pm traffic!  Tim had to stay home and work so it was just my mom and me with the girls.  We spent time at the resort's awesome pool and "Splash Pad", took them to Sea World, went to Bates Nut Farm, met our newest cousin Tallulah, and spent time with my special Aunt and Uncle.  Thankfully, even though the drive home was haunting me, it only ended up taking a total of 10 hours door to door with stops.  The next trip is to see my grandparents in Medford, OR (again, with my mom) and then a long weekend to my other grandparents in Humboldt County (this time with Tim!) in October.  Then I will have had my share of traveling for a LONG time!  Traveling with children is hard work!
